Voice-powered, hands-free Messaging and To Do Lists
I just found a new site that offers a really great free messaging service (and I was not alone).

“Obscenely simple…incredibly clever”
– Christopher Null, Yahoo! Tech

Jott.com basically lets you call an 800 number to save a voice message. The innovative thing is that Jott.com takes your voicemail and transcribes it to text messages or e-mail and sends the message to a recipient of your choice. It’s pretty cool. Check out jott.com here.

A Jott is a thought, an idea, a task, an action item, a phone number, a gift, a check list for your move, a to-do for today, a request from a customer, a moment in time, a restaurant recommendation — it’s anything you want to offload to remember later. You can Jott yourself or you can Jott a contact.

How do I Jott?
No matter where you are - you can Jott instantly. If you’re out and about, just dial 877-568-8486 and say your Jott at the beep. Or send an email to jott@jott.com. Or click on the “New Jott” button at http://jott.com.

I love Jott!! Espeically when your state is banning cell phone usage while driving! It’s a perfect solution!

  2. punchkick Says:

I also love Jott. What state are you in that is banning cell phone usage?

  3. Chris Pancho Says:

I’m from washington state. The law doesn’t go into effect until Jan 1st of next year. I didn’t catch if text messaging was passed yet, but I’m sure it will if it hasn’t!

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. Chris Pancho Says:

Not a problem! What are you using jott mainly for?

  6. punchkick Says:

Mainly just for making a quick note when nothing to write with is handy.

  7. Chris Pancho Says:

right on, I’ve found it handy when it comes to music. I don’t do to much to have a “to do list” haha so I don’t send my jotts to a todo list like I’ve seen others. For music, I jott myself a guitar riff so I can remember it later because I’m FOREVER forgetting new ideas.

  8. punchkick Says:

I don’t play music, but that’s a great use for it.

  9. Chris Pancho Says:

yeah, its pretty cool. it’s kinda silly at times, but it works. If you really wanna get jiggy wit it….try using this thing called vitalist and jott.

    Love Jott !

On the way to work , check reminders/ to do list for previous day and add new ones for new day . Quick, easy ,efficient .

Update my calendar that is linked to Jott —so easy to do this by voice rather than another chore on the computer !

As I’m driving to work , I use it to communicate with family in different time zones when it’s too early to call At work there is very limited access to a computer .

Overall makes my commute time more productive . Makes me feel so noble o;)
