Color theory, peripheral vision illusions

These are just fun to look at (although it hurts your eyes after a while). Keep in mind that these are NOT animated. The movement that you see is simply your peripheral vision playing tricks on you.

As soon as I found these images I loaded them into Photoshop to see if they were animated gifs. About 10 minutes later I had a HUGE headache. ;)

Wow….. i could have sworn they were moving, but if you look closely they are not. This isvery cool, but my eyes are still rolling. By the way, if anyone out there is a Chelsea fan, then ARSENAL are gonna win the league ya hear! From Bob in Kentucky.

Wow very cool! I thought the same thing:Maybe he did something on the computer to make it move but if you look closely its moving by itself. Very interesting! :)

  6. Megan Says:

Oh by the way bob. Chelsea is so much better than Arsenal!! :)

Ryan, Are you doing any other research into visual stimuli? i am looking for some work related to peripheral vision illusions, particularly for signage.

Found discussion of images visible in pv, but when viewed directly image disappears. This is my real interest.

I thought the security question for posting was theoretical and got bounced out. What color is an orange? I answered black, until white light shines on it. Over complicating things as usual.

Ryan, Where did you find these images? Would you post a link?
